CBSE STRUCTURE AND COURSES

The school session begins from 1st June.A pupil has to study two languages besides English upto std. VIII.The school is co-educational and has English as the medium of instruction though equal emphasis is laid on teaching of Kannada and Hindi along with other subjects.
Computer education is imparted as a compulsory part of the syllabus from Std. I to VIII.PVV has designed Curriculum Guidelines for classes LKG to standard VIII. It attempts to provide teachers with a complete perspective on education right from its vision, aims and objectives, scheme of studies, planning programme, methodology, variety of games and activities and evaluation.

The most important feature of curriculum guidelines is that it explains in simple terms the what’s, whys and how’s of developmental areas physical, motor, social, emotional, language, cognitive, creative and expressive arts, health and hygiene, nutrition and value education. It gives insights to the teachers in skills and concepts, which need to be developed in children during the course of curriculum transaction throughout the year. Behavioural objectives of skills and concepts are stated precisely. It further provides a comprehensive range of games and activities to cater to each developmental area in accordance with developmental rate, pace and style of an individual child.

Techniques and strategies for lesson planning, dos and don’ts for classroom teaching learningProcesses are explained in a lucid manner.

The PVV Centre for Academic Excellence, ever since it came into existence, in the year 2017, has been making all efforts to impart quality education to the students and bring about uniformity in the standard of education.

Keeping this objective in mind, the Board, for Classes–LKG to VIII has designed common curriculum and instructional material in the form of printed documents and various audio-visual aids. All these include Curriculum Guidelines, Textbooks, Teachers’ Manuals and Handbooks, Educational Kits, Multimedia CDs and Audio CDs.

All the instructional material makes the process of learning participative by involving children in individual and group play activities. In addition to it, the package not only helps a teacher to achieve the set objectives but also intends to help children grow, learn and develop physically, socially, emotionally, morally and intellectually.

OLYMPIAD

Olympiad is a Competitive Examination based on the School Syllabus. PVV has been conducting Olympiad from the year 2019 for the students of PVV in the subjects of English, General Science and Mathematics.

The Olympiad for English, General Science and Mathematics are conducted for the students of Class-I to VIII. Its format of Multiple Choice Question Test.

The objective of organising English, Science and Maths Olympiad is to encourage students to develop competitive spirit, work hard to excel, sharpen the mental ability and enhance the analytical reasoning ability. The exam also aims to increase the thinking capability, the problem solving skills and the confidence in students, thus, helps in their overall development.

The SOS Olympiad is conducted the following two levels:
Age Group I: Students from Classes-I to III
Age Group II: Students from Classes-IV & V
Age Group III: Students from Classes-VI to VIII

The format of SOS Olympiad is a Multiple Choice Question Test. In order to find a Wizard in the subject concerned, the directions pertaining to its syllabus are sent by this office.

The conduct of Olympiad in the above mentioned subjects help our students to become the leaders of tomorrow and prepare themselves for future challenges.
